Sergiy Tsivkach, Executive Director of UkraineInvest, joined the roundtable online discussion “Insurance and Risk Mitigation for Recovery of Ukraine”

The event was organized by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), analytical institute based in Washington DC.

Ukraine needs to support its private sector and actively attract foreign direct investments in order to rebuild and modernize its economy. In short term perspective, companies doing business in Ukraine require financing and war risk insurance. In Ukraine, only 11% of business owners have decided to suspend operations, while 85% of companies have expressed willingness to participate in reconstruction.

Sergiy Tsivkach told participants about investment climate and prospects of doing business in Ukraine. He noted that Ukraine has strong support from international partners and unprecedented interest to our country, enhancing partnership and investment opportunities. He also pointed out the need to plan investment projects right now.

“UkraineInvest, as a government agency, focuses on supporting active private investors in Ukraine. We are always ready to cooperate with those, who are interested in introducing new technologies. They play a major role in the country transformation among other factors,” emphasized Sergiy Tsivkach.

He concluded his speech with the thesis that the best support of the international business will be if it shows its interest now, without expectations for a Marshall Plan for Ukraine.

We are grateful to CSIS that the the topic of investment in Ukraine for its transformation became a center of Western partners discussion once again.
