More opportunities for investment: National Securities and Stock Market Commission admits S&P 500 securities to circulation in Ukraine

The National Securities and Stock Market Commission is actively working to expand opportunities for investing in foreign financial instruments. Entry of world-renowned companies to the Ukrainian capital market is another step towards its integration into international markets and increasing investments for Ukraine.

The regulator has the right to initiate admission of securities included in stock market indices on the basis of an approved Regulation on admission of securities of foreign issuers to circulation in Ukraine.

Therefore, the Commission decided to admit 412 securities listed on S&P 500, which can be held on the account of PJSC National Depository of Ukraine opened with an international depository and clearing institution, Clearstream Banking Luxembourg.

The S&P 500 is a stock market index, which includes just over 500 most capitalized U.S. joint stock companies. Shares of all the companies are traded on American largest stock exchanges, such as the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. The stock market index is rightfully called a barometer of the American economy.

As of December 29, 2022, a total of 96 securities of foreign issuers were admitted to circulation in Ukraine, and 412 securities (S&P 500) were admitted at the initiative of the Commission.
