FIT for Ukraine: Investment Innovations

Attracting private capital is crucial to Ukraine’s rapid reconstruction and economic transformation. However, the full-scale invasion has created challenges and concerns among private investors. There was therefore a need to develop mechanisms for blended finance – a process in which private capital is combined with donor or government capital, creating innovative approaches to co-investment and reducing investment risks.

Thanks to this mechanism, private investors will feel secure about their investments and will have the opportunity to invest in Ukraine now, without waiting for the end of the war.

This mechanism can be effectively combined with impact investing.
Impact investing is investing in companies, organisations and foundations with the intention of creating a measurable social and/or environmental impact alongside a financial return. It is relevant for Ukraine, especially for the development of SMEs. We will discuss these and other issues during the next FIT for Ukraine Online Forum: Investment Innovations.
