Industrial consultations with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency

Mechanical engineering accounts for about 5% of Ukraine’s total industrial output. The production of electrical equipment and vehicles is the most developed.

Mechanical engineering will play an important role in the reconstruction of Ukraine. The industry for development has a significant industrial base, qualified specialists in STEM specialties, a developed IT sector, as well as a comprehensive system of investment incentives. In 2019-2021, there will be a steady increase in the volume of foreign direct investment in mechanical engineering. In 2022, despite the full-scale invasion, Ukraine continued to fulfil export contracts, despite the loss of production volumes in various product categories. For example, 65% of
vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers produced were sent abroad.

During industrial consultations with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, Deputy Executive Director Yevhenii Shakotko spoke about the investment potential of the machine-building sector in Ukraine. The event took place thanks to cooperation with Polish business in the field of export recovery and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine.

Incentive systems for attracting investment:
– State support for projects;
– State support for industrial parks;
– Insurance of investments against military/political risks by international partners (UDFC Finance MIGA SACE and others).
