Asian companies are interested in investing in Ukraine

Taiwan is open to sharing experience and resources to strengthen trade and economic ties.

This was discussed during a meeting of UkraineInvest’s management with representatives of the Taiwan Trade Centre in Kyiv and the Taiwan Representative Office in Poland.

The parties discussed
– ways of attracting Taiwanese investments;
– establishment of bilateral economic, trade and business cooperation between Ukraine and Taiwan;
– a visit by a Ukrainian business delegation to Taiwan in April this year (companies will represent the electronics, medical, engineering and energy sectors).

The Taiwanese side shared important insights and opportunities for Ukrainian companies and entrepreneurs in the context of cooperation with Taiwan. These include in particular
– grants for participation in trade fairs;
– organisation of bilateral trade missions;
– exchange of contacts for partner search.

In 2023, Taiwan has earmarked a special budget of nearly USD 59 mln for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The governments of the Czech Republic and Taiwan signed an agreement to support the reconstruction of Ukraine. The agreement provides for joint work to restore water and energy systems.
