About the event
Rivne is one of the leaders in woodworking and furniture production in Ukraine. The region’s development strategy for the period up to 2027 identified the woodworking and furniture industry as a priority area for smart specialization. The share of the furniture cluster in the region’s export structure is 38.8% (furniture – 8.6%, wood products – 30.2%). The furniture cluster covers the following areas of activity: woodworking, furniture, sewing, design, and logistics.
In 2019, the Rivne regional state administration, with the support of the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers, took the lead in initiating the development of a furniture cluster in the Rivne region. The main goal was to optimize the use of production, resources and labor within this industry. This initiative was aimed at facilitating the production of high quality products with significant added value.
To date, the region has already attracted a number of well-known investors, including companies such as Kronospan (Austria), Hjort Knudsen (Denmark), Morgan Furniture (USA), which means more than 400 million euros of foreign direct investment in the furniture industry alone.
As of today, the region’s share in the total production volume in Ukraine is
– plywood – 62%;
– chipboard – 43%;
– certain types of furniture (sofas that can be transformed into beds) – 72%.
The availability of raw materials, primary processed materials, Ukraine’s significant need for furniture products for reconstruction, and export potential create unprecedented prospects for the development of a regional furniture cluster.
FIT for Ukraine: Furniture Cluster program has been designed to present analytical materials on the state of the sector in the region, investment opportunities and government incentives for the implementation of investment projects.
We invite potential investors, representatives of the furniture industry and experts to join the event.
