Rivne region positions itself as the furniture capital of Ukraine. Thanks to the development of the industry, exports in the region grew by 5.7% in 2022. The region exports finished products, which makes it possible to increase added value.
Today in Rivne we held the sixth in the series of FIT for Ukraine: Furniture Cluster. The event brought together offline and online attendees.
“40% of the region’s territory is covered by forests, and we are the second largest producer of timber. In addition to local companies engaged in woodworking and furniture manufacturing, we have 7 more such companies relocated to us. The woodworking and furniture industry accounts for 33% of the region’s exports. The Rivne Regional State Administration continues to support and develop the furniture cluster, we have all the conditions for this,” said Vitaliy Koval, Head of the Rivne Regional State Administration, welcoming the forum participants.
He also stressed that as part of the strategy to promote blue-collar jobs, the region already has 31 training centres where anyone can learn a new profession and join the furniture cluster’s companies through short-term programmes. “I am convinced that the key to success lies in the cooperation of business, government and educational institutions,” Vitalii Koval emphasised.
Well-known international companies operating in the region and actively introducing advanced production technologies presented their own business cases at the event.
The forum was organised by UkraineInvest in partnership with the Rivne Regional Military Administration and the Rivne Furniture Cluster with support from the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program.
