Switzerland is to invest in Ukrainian climate projects for green recovery of Ukraine

After Ukraine’s victory in the war, Switzerland will invest in the implementation of public and private projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in various fields of activity of Ukraine – infrastructure, construction, transport, energy.

The relevant agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Switzerland was signed by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets, and the Head of the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications of Switzerland, Simonetta Sommaruga, during the International Ukraine Recovery Conference in Lugano.

The agreement between the governments is a good start for the ‘green’ post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and the achievement of climate goals under the Paris Agreement. Ukrainian business will get access to investments for the implementation of projects that will contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions and advance the green transformation of the country. In return, Switzerland will receive from Ukraine verified results of reducing carbon emissions into the atmosphere.
