Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada has backed an increase in budget spending for 2024.
The Verkhovna Rada has passed in the first reading the bill No. 11417 to increase the budget this year by UAH 500 billion. 301 deputies voted in favour.

In August, Ukraine received USD 8.4 billion in external financing.
Of this amount, USD 5.5 billion were grants and USD 2.9 billion were concessional loans. More than 65% of the funds received were on a non-repayable basis.

The second round of the Stanford Ignite Ukraine programme is now open.
It will include 42 Ukrainian entrepreneurs who own small or medium-sized businesses. The programme will begin in March 2025.

Ukraine is preparing to launch 7 new biomethane projects this year.
In particular, Gals Agro LLC in the Chernihiv region plans to produce 3 million cubic metres of biomethane per year. Their project will be connected to the local gas distribution network (GDN). The Vitargo Group in the Khmelnytskyi region also plans to produce 3 million cubic metres of biomethane per year with a connection to the GDN.

Zaporizhstal shows rapid production growth in 2024.
In the period from January to August, Zaporizhstal increased its production of rolled steel by 32.6% year-on-year to 1 million 644.4 thousand tonnes.
