On April 24, 2026, Kyiv hosted the 12th meeting of the Ukrainian-Latvian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, alongside the Latvian-Ukrainian Business Forum. These events served as key platforms for advancing dialogue between Ukraine and Latvia in the areas of investment, reconstruction, energy, digitalisation, industrial cooperation, and business partnerships.
Marina Khlystun, Executive Director of UkraineInvest, participated in the Intergovernmental Commission as a speaker in the session dedicated to Ukraine’s recovery and cooperation.
UkraineInvest’s participation reflects a transition from high-level intergovernmental dialogue to practical engagement with investors, companies, and institutional partners, including the development of a concrete investment pipeline and support for project implementation.

The Latvian-Ukrainian Business Forum, organised with the participation of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Ukraine, and the Latvian Investment and Development Agency, became an important element of bilateral economic dialogue.
Maksym Bondarenko, Head of Investment Advisory and Attraction Department at UkraineInvest, spoke during the business session “From Crisis to Opportunity: How Latvia and Ukraine Can Shape a New Economic Reality”.

He presented Ukraine’s investment landscape to Latvian businesses, outlining priority sectors, market entry options, and available risk mitigation instruments, including those under the Ukraine Investment Framework. Particular attention was given to industrial parks, privatisation opportunities, and state support for large-scale investment projects.
Key areas of cooperation include:
The forum also included a series of B2B meetings with Latvian companies and organisations, including Latvenergo, Rietumu Banka, Tet, Latvijas Mobilais Telefons, BELAM-RĪGA, Brasa Defence Systems, TETERS, TILDE, FORTES, Eco Baltia Vide, Olpha, and others.
These meetings facilitate a transition from presenting general opportunities to engaging in concrete discussions, including identifying interest in the Ukrainian market, screening potential areas of cooperation, and discussing market entry strategies.
For UkraineInvest, the Ukrainian-Latvian track represents an important area of practical investment diplomacy. Latvian businesses bring relevant expertise aligned with Ukraine’s recovery needs.
