Ukraine continues to reform its approach to economic diplomacy. The key objective is to ensure that foreign business interest in Ukraine’s recovery is transformed into real contracts and new jobs as quickly as possible.
This was the focus of a specialized professional training course for diplomatic service officials, in which UkraineInvest experts participated on May 20. The training took place at the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The course was designed for diplomats preparing for rotation to economic positions in Ukraine’s foreign diplomatic missions, as well as for representatives of the diplomatic service already working in the economic sphere.
UkraineInvest was represented by Deputy Executive Director Oleksandr Melnychenko, as well as leading experts Andrii Ryzvaniuk (Investment Advisor) and Yevhen Kotov (Expert in legal affairs and regulatory policy), who shared practical expertise and operational experience with participants.

The topic of UkraineInvest’s presentation was: “Utilization of UkraineInvest Tools for Attracting Investment into Ukraine’s Economy from the Perspective of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.”
The main focus of the meeting was practical implementation rather than theory. The experts provided a detailed overview of how the “single window” model for investors operates, how to effectively present Ukraine’s investment potential abroad, how to conduct preliminary assessments of investor interest, and how to coordinate cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, UkraineInvest, government authorities, regions, and Ukrainian companies.
Single Window Model and Practical Tools Presented to Diplomats
During the presentation, UkraineInvest specialists outlined the institution’s role as the government office responsible for investment attraction and support. Today, the office operates under a “single window” format, providing comprehensive assistance to foreign investors at every stage — from the initial consultation and selection of relevant projects to communication with government authorities, local administrations, financial institutions, and international partners.
The practical tools and analytical materials provided to the diplomatic corps were structured around four key areas:
