Acting Executive Director of UkraineInvest, Oleksandr Melnychenko, participated in the Ukrainian-Greek Business Forum held at the initiative of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Embassy of Greece in Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, and Enterprise Greece, with the support of the European Business Association and the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.
During the event, Mr. Melnychenko discussed the attraction and support of Greek investors engaged in large-scale investment projects with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Mr. Tasos Chatzivasileiou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Ukraine, Mr. Alexandros Dimitrakopoulos, Secretary General for International Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece and Chairman of Enterprise Greece, Mr. Dimitris Skalkos.
The UkraineInvest team, represented by Oleksandr Melnychenko, Chief Adviser to the Executive Director Andrii Kakusha, Head of the Investment Advisory Department Maksym Bondarenko, and senior experts Elina Shapovalova and Artur Fedotenko, presented Ukraine’s investment opportunities to the Greek delegation and highlighted key areas for potential cooperation. It was emphasized that despite the ongoing war, Ukraine is undergoing a significant transformation, implementing reforms, advancing on its path to European integration, and creating favorable conditions for investment.
“We strive to ensure that the post-war recovery of Ukraine is driven by private investment — transparent, sustainable, and impactful. To this end, we have developed effective investor support mechanisms based on the Law on State Support for Investment Projects with Significant Investments. UkraineInvest is fully prepared to provide comprehensive assistance to Greek investors,” said Oleksandr Melnychenko.
He called on Greek businesses to actively engage in Ukraine’s economic transformation:
“Today, Ukraine is a country of opportunity. We are open to partnerships, cooperation, and investment. UkraineInvest is your reliable partner in Ukraine.”
This forum was one of the most significant business events involving Greek entrepreneurs in Ukraine in the past five years, underscoring Greece’s strong interest in restoring and expanding economic ties with Ukraine. The forum aimed to strengthen Ukrainian-Greek economic cooperation by providing a platform for direct dialogue between businesses, government institutions, and industry associations from both countries.
The event featured two main components: a plenary session and a series of B2B meetings focused on priority sectors of collaboration.
Companies from key industrial sectors — including shipbuilding, infrastructure, energy, and defense — participated in the bilateral forum. Particular attention was given to cooperation in maritime port and logistics infrastructure and shipping.
