Our team: Oleksandr Melnychenko

UkraineInvest is built by people. Our team is a collective of professionals united by common goals and values. 

Today we are launching the #teamUkraineInvest section, where we will introduce our specialists. We start with Oleksandr Melnychenko, who has been acting Executive Director of UkraineInvest since December 2023.

During this time, with the help of UkraineInvest, four projects worth EUR 232 million have been submitted to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine for recognition of the investments as significant and to provide investors with the state support required by law. One of the projects has already received a feasibility assessment from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and is awaiting the signing of an investment agreement. In addition, under Mr Melnychenko’s leadership, the UkraineInvest team is supporting 10 investment projects worth more than EUR 1.3 billion. Work is underway to attract a number of potential investment projects. 

Oleksandr Ivanovych is a Merited Lawyer of Ukraine and worked for 12 years as a judge in the Kyiv courts. He later held senior positions as deputy, first deputy and deputy head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, as well as senior positions in the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine. With Oleksandr Melnychenko’s participation and under his leadership, more than 200 laws and other regulatory acts in the field of competition (antitrust) law have been developed.

In addition, Oleksandr Melnychenko represented Ukraine in particular in

  • a number of intergovernmental negotiations;
  • at the Global Competition Forums;
  • UNCTAD Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Policy and Law.

Oleksandr Melnychenko joined the UkraineInvest team in 2019, first as Chief Advisor to the Executive Director, and since September 2023 as Head of the Legal Affairs and Regulatory Policy Department.
