Companies will be able to repatriate dividends paid on shares held abroad for the periods from 1 January 2024

The implementation of these measures will support economic processes in Ukraine by

  • facilitating the attraction of new investments; 
  • minimising the risks of restricting the activities of companies with foreign capital. 

The easing does not apply to the payment of dividends from retained earnings for previous periods or reserve capital. 

The NBU has set a monthly limit for the repatriation of dividends at the equivalent of EUR 1 million for periods starting from the beginning of 2024. Compliance with this rule will be monitored by the NBU’s automated information system E-Limits.

Dividend repatriation is defined as the payment of dividends by a resident companies to a non-resident.

The changes will come into force from 13 May 2024.
