Thanks to cooperation with Latvia, the Ukrainian business community can solve a number of pressing problems

Latvia’s logistical capabilities and Ukraine’s production capacities could become a prerequisite for the two countries to jointly enter new export markets.

This was discussed at a meeting between the management of UkraineInvest and Kristaps Purmalis, Deputy Head of the Political and Economic Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Ukraine, and Ainars Mežulis, Head of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency in Ukraine.

The parties discussed
– investment potential of bilateral cooperation;
– the visit of a business delegation of international companies interested in investment in the Ukrainian economy and the search for partners in Ukraine;
– Latvia’s participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction;
– immediate prospects and priority economic areas;
– business environment in Ukraine and Latvia.

The Latvian side assured that it is ready to continue supporting Ukraine in its fight against the russian aggressor and on the way to Euro-Atlantic processes.

Latvia has become one of the most important entry points to the EU market for Ukrainian exports. The Latvian business community assists Ukrainian companies in setting up logistics, entering global markets and forming new partnerships. Over 1.2% of Latvia’s GDP goes to support Ukraine. It is one of the few countries with which trade turnover increased in 2022 (+7.4%).
