European Investment Bank opens an office in Kyiv

Its aim is to provide enhanced support to Ukraine and Eastern Europe in general, working in cooperation and coordination with the EIB’s offices in Moldova and the South Caucasus (Tbilisi, Georgia).

With more resources and expertise on the ground and closer to its partners, the Resident Representation will play an important role in supporting the recovery and reconstruction efforts. This expansion builds on the EIB’s 16-year presence in Ukraine, with a portfolio of EUR 7.3 bln of projects, mainly in transport, energy and municipal infrastructure.

The EIB has significantly stepped up its activity in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale russian invasion, providing EUR 1.7 bln in emergency aid with the support of the European Commission.
