Ukraine is deepening its cooperation with German companies to increase investment in reconstruction

This was discussed at a roundtable held by the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Ukraine).

The event was attended by more than 40 representatives of German business.

The parties discussed transparency and accountability and the use of digital tools.

“We are working closely with the German government to attract German companies, in particular we have launched a programme of insurance guarantees to provide investment security. At the same time, we are working to develop public-private partnerships to support the economy and implement reconstruction projects. Our focus is on increasing economic activity at the regional level. To ensure an open process, we are using digital tools such as DREAM – the State Digital Ecosystem for Recovery Management,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.

He also announced the launch of a new stage of cooperation within the Business Advisory Group, a platform for ongoing dialogue with private investors and local authorities to ensure better business conditions and sustainable development of territories, which already brings together more than 300 companies working systematically in Ukraine.

The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine  is currently working with the German side to prepare the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 (URC2024). Together with the World Bank, the European Commission, the United Nations and other international partners, the Ministry has already identified the affected regions, which will play a key role in preparing the presentation of reconstruction projects at the conference.
