The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, and the President of the World Bank Group, David Malpas, discussed at the meeting The World Bankinvolvement in providing further financial support to Ukraine, assessing the damage caused by the russian aggression, developing a plan to rebuild Ukraine and raising additional funds.
As a result, Ukraine’s Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko signed with the World Bank an agreement to provide Ukraine with a grant of 88.5 million euros from the trust fund for development policy in the field of economic recovery.
Denys Shmyhal stated that Ukraine has a stable macroeconomic situation and continues to meet its financial obligations. However, he stressed that russia’s aggression is costing Ukraine dearly every day, thus Ukraine needs financial assistance from prominent international institutions to support the citizens who have suffered from occupant’s actions.
