Ukraine’s economic transformation is only possible with the involvement of private investors

The CEO of UkraineInvest said this during his speech at the web conference “Cooperation between Italy and Ukraine: B2B Networking”.

“UkraineInvest is working to make it easier for investors to do business in Ukraine. As an institution authorised by the Government of Ukraine, UkraineInvest provides comprehensive support to investors, so I invite Italian companies to cooperate. Ukraine appreciates Italian support in its reconstruction. We are waiting for your projects to make Ukraine and Europe together successful and profitable,” said Sergiy Tsivkach.

He also stressed that the Ukrainian government is working on developing a system of investment incentives. As a result, investors currently have the following opportunities

– receipt of up to 30% of the capital investment made in projects in Ukraine by companies investing more than €12 million

– compensation for the cost of connection to utility networks for companies investing in greenfield projects, i.e. in the construction/modernisation of enterprises (available from 2024).

– an agreement with the Government of Ukraine that sets out the conditions for doing business for 15 years and provides for compensation in the event of losses incurred by the investor as a result of state action at central or local level.

– a system of industrial parks – more than 2,500 hectares of industrial land ready for industrial investment projects in Ukraine, income tax exemption for up to 10 years, as well as compensation for connection to utilities and no need to pay customs duties when importing equipment into Ukraine.

The event was organised in partnership with the EBA and Confindustria. Participants discussed opportunities for cooperation between Ukraine and Italy, existing projects, financing instruments and promising areas of cooperation.

Ukraine and Italy have great potential for joint initiatives in trade, innovation and finance. Italy is a major player in the global market and cooperation with Ukrainian partners can open up new opportunities for the import and export of goods and services. Bilateral relations can strengthen the economies of both countries and contribute to sustainable development. In times of war, cooperation and partnership can be the key to business success and sustainability.
