The government has developed and submitted to the Parliament the bill No. 7737, which brings the customs tariff of Ukraine into compliance with the requirements of the International Convention on the Harmonized System of Description and Coding of Goods.
Ukraine is adapting to international standards for the classification of goods in order to boost exports, enter new markets and leverage its competitive advantages in world trade.
The project of the new customs tariff of Ukraine provides for:
– technical change in the classification of individual goods by combining – several codes into one, detailing one code into several, and moving individual types of goods into other codes;
– exclusion from the system of goods that are no longer used in international trade;
– introduction of new goods into circulation, which are produced using modern technologies, etc.
In general, subject to the support of the document in the VRU, more than 350 changes will be made in commodity codes, mainly for goods in the agricultural, chemical, forestry sectors, textiles, non-ferrous metals, engineering, transport, etc.
It is important that the new customs tariff does not provide for changes in import duty rates on goods.
