Investing in Ukraine means investing in Europe

This was the message of UkraineInvest CEO at IME 2023 in Germany.

Sergiy Tsivkach presented to the investment community projects implemented by international investors in Ukraine, available investment incentives and opportunities, and explained why foreign companies should invest in Ukraine now.

“As a candidate for EU membership, Ukraine is gradually adopting regulations that meet the criteria for doing business in the EU. As a result, the country’s investment landscape is expanding, offering more opportunities,” said Sergiy Tsivkach.

According to the Executive Director of UkraineInvest, these opportunities include hydrogen production (the total potential for average annual production of “green” hydrogen in Ukraine is about 505 billion m3), food security, military technology (there are currently 410 military technology projects, and the demand for such projects is constantly growing), the possibility of moving European businesses to Ukraine (closer to the EU border), a large number of skilled workers, and government incentives.

Investment incentives:
– up to 10 years of temporary exemption from corporate income tax;

– construction of related infrastructure covered by state support;

– special taxation regime for the IT industry: 9% corporate tax and 5% personal income tax;

– special budgetary subsidies and partial reimbursement of investment costs for the agricultural sector (up to USD 1.8 mln of state support).

The Investment Management Exhibition (IME) is an international event dedicated to foreign direct investment. IME brings together investment promotion agencies, investors and entrepreneurs and is one of the world’s most effective networking platforms. The event is supported by the German Federal Ministry for International Cooperation (BMZ), UNIDO ITPO, the German Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (BVMW), the German Economic Development Agency, and others.
The slogan of this year’s conference is #buildingbridges. The organisers used it to draw attention to the need for infrastructure projects, especially in Ukraine.
