Verkhovna Rada adopts the bill on business beneficiaries

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted bill No. 6320. That is an important step on the way to start of negotiations on joining the EU.
Therefore, Draft Law No. 6320 “On Amendments of Certain Laws of Ukraine on Improving the Regulation of Ultimate Beneficial Ownership and Ownership Structure of a Legal Entity” is designated to ensure that Ukrainian legislation in the field of anti-money laundering is in line with FATF (Financial Action Task Force) standards.

The bill is aimed at simplifying and accelerating the submission by legal entities information about the ultimate beneficial owners and ownership structure to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs, and Public Organizations. The implementation of the bill should also increase the effectiveness of financial monitoring, contribute to the fulfillment of Ukraine’s international obligations in the relevant field.
