Japan’s big business is interested in long-term cooperation with Ukraine

This was discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yoshimasa Hayashi and representatives of leading Japanese companies.

Denys Shmyhal thanked Japan for its support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, for its financial and humanitarian support, and for sanctions against russia. Yoshimasa Hayashi noted that Japan will continue to support Ukraine and strengthen anti-russian sanctions.

Ukraine has already received USD 2.1 bln in macro-financial assistance from Japan, and cooperation continues.

“We are creating a favourable business climate to attract investment. We hope that Japanese companies will become residents of Diia.City, a space that offers unique legal and tax advantages,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed.

Japanese entrepreneurs, in turn, presented specific cooperation projects, in particular in the fields of communications, infrastructure and medicine.

During the meeting, UkraineInvest Executive Director Sergiy Tsivkach assured the Japanese side that all investment projects would receive full support.
