Establishing an FDI strategy for economic development and diversification

What strategies do the IPAs apply in the perspective of economic development and diversification of FDI? How to redesign these strategies in response to the Covid-19 crisis and its effects on levels of investment?

These issues were highlighted during today’s OECD webinar “Establishing an FDI strategy for economic development and diversification”.

Sergiy Tsivkach, Executive Director of UkraineInvest, shared Ukraine’s experience in developing an FDI strategy, the role of UkraineInvest in leading the investment promotion and its achievements as well as efforts to recalibrate the investment strategy in the context of the Covid-19 crisis.

We thank our partners at OECD for the great opportunity to discuss the topics related to FDI attraction and glean the valuable information from our counterparts in different countries.

The main takeaways are:

  • UkraineInvest developed a comprehensive investment guide for foreign investors, which is the main source of information about opportunities in Ukraine.
  • Ukraine is currently working on the system of state support for projects with significant investment in Ukraine through the introduction of a number of investment incentives in order to compete globally for the FDI.
  • UkraineInvest facilitates its cooperation with partners abroad to open representation points of UkraineInvest in targeted foreign countries.
