Ukraine is well-positioned and has all the necessary expertise to become a part of foreign aerospace companies’ value chain.

On September 3, a European Vega light-weight launch vehicle was successfully launched from Kourou spaceport in French Guiana for the 15th time.

The main engine assembly operated at the Vega LV fourth stage liquid propulsion system, was developed by Yuzhnoye SDO and its batch production is being performed by SE PA Yuzhmash, reads Yuzhmash press release.  According to Yuzhnoye, the key feature of the RD-843 main engine is its capability of multiple (up to 5) burns in flight, which allows it to deliver the satellites into various orbits.

The Vega launch vehicle injected 53 micro- and nano-satellites into sun-synchronous orbit within the ESA’s Small Spacecraft Mission Service (SSMS) project.

Ukraine is one of the few nations with a developed aerospace industry, involving a full cycle of design, production and operation of advanced civil, military and cargo aircraft, as well as supplying space technology.
