UkraineInvest Reviews 2025 Cooperation with JETRO and Highlights 2026 Plans

The UkraineInvest team, together with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), reviewed the outcomes of their 2025 cooperation, based on the memorandum signed in October last year, and outlined joint priorities for 2026.

Key results in 2025 included:

  • facilitating a business mission of Japanese companies to Ukraine;
  • hosting a webinar for 400 representatives of Japanese businesses;
  • supporting Ukraine’s participation in EXPO 2025 in Osaka;
  • initiating the development of a joint Top-100 list of Ukrainian companies to facilitate entry into the Japanese market;
  • providing consultations to Japanese investors;
  • strengthening cooperation with JICA and Keidanren.

The parties agreed that UkraineInvest will support the business mission of Japanese companies in November this year and developed a cooperation plan for 2026, which will cover:

  • supporting Japanese investors throughout the process, from applying for recognition as a significant investment to full project implementation;
  • enhancing cooperation with JETRO’s international offices, including UkraineInvest’s participation in information exchanges and training programs at JETRO offices in Tokyo and Düsseldorf;
  • translating the UkraineInvest website into Japanese to ensure effective communication with potential investors;
  • developing joint analytical materials by JETRO and UkraineInvest experts on Ukraine’s investment opportunities and key economic sectors.

Tetsuo Shibata, Head of JETRO’s Kyiv office, thanked Acting Executive Director of UkraineInvest Oleksandr Melnychenko for the effective cooperation and emphasized the importance of supporting Japanese businesses in the Ukrainian market.
