The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution “On Amendments to Certain Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the Implementation of Investment Projects with Significant Investments”.
The Government’s decision paves the way for the imminent signing of new special investment agreements between investors making significant investments and the Government of Ukraine, with a total value of almost USD 1 billion. The implementation of these projects is expected to create about 2,000 new jobs.
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine continues its efforts to attract foreign investment into the national economy, while UkraineInvest provides comprehensive support to investors in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On State Support for Investment Projects with Significant Investments” (hereinafter referred to as the Law).
The decision was taken in accordance with the amendments to the Law adopted in December 2024. These amendments broadened the eligibility criteria for investors seeking state support. In particular, projects whose implementation began more than 18 months prior to the date of application may now qualify for signing a special investment agreement with the government, provided that investments made earlier than 18 months prior to the application are not included in the calculation base for state support.
Background note:
To date, UkraineInvest – the government’s investment promotion office – is supporting around 40 projects. Two are awaiting a final decision from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, five are in the final stages of preparing their application packages for submission, and the remaining projects are under active development.
