Danish business is interested in increasing its presence in Ukraine and participating in its reconstruction

Danish business is particularly interested in cooperation in the following promising areas

  • industrial equipment;
  • energy efficiency;
  • production of building materials;
  • joint development of oil and gas fields.

This was discussed at a meeting between the UkraineInvest team and Invest in Denmark.

Invest in Denmark is a department within the Trade Council of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs that deals with attracting foreign investment and companies. “Invest in Denmark acts as an intermediary between potential partners and government agencies, organises business trips and provides practical assistance in organising business activities in Denmark.

Denmark currently ranks 18th in terms of investment out of 88 countries investing in Ukraine.

The country has opened a special investment fund for Ukraine worth DKK 1 bln (about USD 133 mln). The fund will finance projects using the best Danish technology and innovative solutions and is open to both the public and private sectors. It will not only provide financial guarantees, but will also lend directly, which makes it different from the financial institutions that have opened their programmes to Ukraine.
