Ukraine is well ahead of global sales of electric vehicles

This rapid growth in the electric car fleet has led to the development of charging infrastructure –  in terms of the number of charging points, Ukraine is on a par with Spain and Belgium and well ahead of Poland.

Maryna Kytina, Chief Advisor to the Executive Director of UkraineInvest said in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.

“Over the past year, the electric car market in our country has almost doubled. As of 1 January, there were 84,127 electric cars registered in Ukraine. According to my survey of operators, there are now more than 12,000 charging points. In 2022, the charging network will be a third smaller, with around 9,500 points. Today, in 70% of cases, Ukrainians prefer to charge their electric cars at home. But two years ago, 90% of Ukrainian electric cars were charged at home,” says Maryna Kytina.
