Ukraine is creating favourable conditions for foreign business by implementing reforms, investment support, industrial parks, PPP projects and concessions


This was discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and US Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker. 

The Prime Minister invited American companies to develop their business in Ukraine. The parties noted existing successful cases, in particular, in energy cooperation between Energoatom and Westinghouse. Sergiy Tsivkach, Executive Director of UkraineInvest, who also attended the meeting, assured the American side that all existing and future investment projects would receive full support.

The participants focused on the growth points of Ukrainian GDP:  
– processing in the agricultural sector; 
– energy sector; 
– the military-industrial complex;
– construction industry; 
– IT; 
– mechanical engineering.

They also touched upon the issues of mine clearance and joint business support programmes in Ukraine.

“Ukrainian exports are a key component of economic growth. We are working on expanding export opportunities and the functioning of the Black Sea grain corridor. In this context, an effective war risk insurance system is important. We are coordinating our work with our American partners,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine said.

Denys Shmyhal and Penny Pritzker also discussed sources of funding for Ukraine’s recovery. The Head of Government of Ukraine  stressed that the aggressor must pay for the damage caused. The parties raised the issue of the use of frozen russian assets. The Prime Minister thanked the United States for its significant financial support.
