UkraineInvest welcomes the decision of the EU-CTC Working group to invite Ukraine to join the Convention on Common Transit (NCTS) and Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods.
Today, 7 July 2022, the EU-CTC Working group made a decision based on the conclusions of the final Evaluation mission of the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD) to invite Ukraine to join the Convention on Common Transit (NCTS) and Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods.
After Ukraine joins the NCTS, Ukrainian enterprises will be able to enjoy the following advantages and simplifications:
– one transit declaration and one guarantee for passage of goods within 36 countries (EU countries, Great Britain, Turkey, Serbia, North Macedonia, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland);
– no need to go to customs terminals since authorized enterprises will be able to send and receive goods at their enterprises;
– Ukrainian financial guarantees will be valid in 35 countries of the world.
The government expects that Ukraine will be able to start the international application of NCTS already at the end of 2022.
