Ukrenergo has placed a 5-year “green” Eurobonds worth $825 mln with 6.875%. This step paves the way to ensuring predictability and increasing stability of the renewable energy sector in Ukraine.

The placement is organized by BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and Ukreximbank.

In October the Cabinet of Ministers provided Ukrenergo with the state guarantees of up to UAH 22.8 bln for the issuance of Eurobonds to repay debts for electricity produced from renewable energy sources. Ukrenergo is inclined to cover all debts owed to renewable energy producers.

EBRD will invest $75 million in a sustainability-linked Eurobond issued by Ukrenergo. “The investment will help to restore the credibility of the Ukrainian renewable energy sector and boost the confidence of private investors and financiers, paving the way for much-needed investment to support the country’s green transition.” – a statement from EBRD reads.
